Now that I’m sober, let’s heal and make our relationship what we want it to be!
Retreat for Substance Use Disorder.
January 22 to 29, 2025
Over the course of seven days couples will reengage with each other using positive interactions designed to foster communication, connection and healing.
The road to sobriety may have been long. But, you did it. Now it’s time to repair the damage and create your new relationship. Moving from an addiction-centered relationship to a wellness centered relationship takes intention. Start the new year with the skills needed to make your relationship better than ever. Using Gottman couples therapy, couples will be guided through the process.
Each couple will complete a pre-retreat assessment which, in combination with your input, will provide a road map of where to start, what to strengthen and what to repair. Couples will have their own therapy notebook so they will have a resource to return to after the retreat ends.
With the guidance of two licensed therapists, both substance use and relationship issues will be addressed. Couples will engage with each other in and out of “therapy” through various activities that are geared to promote closeness, positive interactions, mindfulness, and fun. Using Wilmington, NC as the backdrop couples will be invited to engage in an assortment of activities from attending theater to mini golf, from mindfulness exercises that incorporate nature exploration to historic carriage rides and ghost walks! All this in combination with intensive therapy at the core of the retreat. This couples retreat is about transformation, healing and creating an opportunity to make your relationship healthy.
